What's on at the Buck's Head

Summer 2010

Sept 11th
Buckfest 2010. Bring the whole family to a musical extravaganza in the garden to raise funds for Wymondley Community Garden. A range of music will be on display from gentle acoustic through jazz and reggae to rock blues. Acts include the Main Trees, Andrea Wilde, Sarah Doe and Jonny Fever, Black Dog, Wayne McArthur and the Universal Players, Tie One On, Left Hand Drive and the Montgomery Music Makers. The music starts from 2:30 and will carry on through the afternoon and evening. Entry is free but there will be plenty of opportunities to make donations and spend money at the BBQ and bar. Please be generous as all profits will go towards the Community Garden. NB Please bring a blanket to sit on as, despite sterling efforts this summer, there are still a lot of nettles and thistles growing!

Petanque

The piste was refurbished at the start of the 2006 season. Check above for details of league fixtures and friendlies. If you want to join a team, please contact Steve Noel at the pub for details.

Darts & Bar Games

A dartboard is available in the back room, and equipment for all the traditional pub games, like cribbage, dominoes, shove ha'penny etc is available on request from the bar. There is also an antique bar billiards table, one of the few in the area.

Quiz nights take place from time to time. Please check the What’s On section above for updates.

Live music

Live music takes place most Friday evenings. We cater for a variety of tastes from folk to pop and blues to rock with the occasional comedy night. The music is played at a level that is suitable for all the family to attend. Entry is free and the music starts around 8:30pm. Please check our What’s On section for full details.
